Headgear & Helmets

0712us-u3-1small.jpg (43019 bytes) 0712US-u3 - US Army model 1938 tanker helmet made by Rawlings. Made by the same company famous for their baseball equipment, this tanker's helmet features a resin-fiber, ventilated helmet shell with leather protective earflaps. The leather piece surrounding the communication opening on each earflap shows a tear in the leather. The leather arms riveted to each side of the shell are intact. The straps at the back of the helmet used for adjusting the earflaps are also intact. The interior is marked with Rawlings and the helmet size 7 3/8 along with the patent numbers. The helmet shows light wear and is in overall very good condition. - $400. More Photos  
0710HUS1-1small.jpg (43019 bytes) 0710HUS1 - WWII D-Day M1 Navy helmet with gray stripe for landing craft and beach operations personnel. Prior to the Normandy invasion of June 6, 1944, Naval officials ordered personnel who would be involved in the actual landings to paint their helmets with a gray stripe so as not to be confused with Army combat troops being sent inland. This helmet comes complete with liner and chinstrap. Rare $1000. More Photos
