218H1 - Army double decal M35 by Eisenhutten-Thale. This excellent example features the Heer adler and the national escutcheon shield. Each shield retains upwards of 90% of it design. The smooth dark field gray paint finish was introduced prior to the production of the model 1940 model helmet. The exterior finish presents light period wear. The interior retains its complete leather liner stamped size 54. On the left side of the apron is stamped the maker and shell size ET62. Along the back on the apron is stamped the production number 4082 that indicates it was probably produced sometime during 1938 after switching from the “apple-green” finish. 087H5 - Army (Heer) general's or Navy(?) officer's double decal "vulcanfiber" parade dress helmet. I have to admit that I'm a bit stumped by the golden color of this decal. It may very well be Kriegsmarine. Regardless, this is a very rare Third Reich helmet. The helmet is double decal with both being 100%. The light green parade finish is about 100%. The screened vent air grommets are a nice rare to see. The only each side of the helmet shows cracks that extend from the bottom of the skirt's edge up into the decals for ½ inch. The interior features the Robert Lubstein label on a black padded dome. The leather liner is also stamped with the Robert Lubstein name. There are perforated initials punched near the Lubstein imprint - SB. Also there are a series of numbers handwritten along the back of the liner. The initials DRP are stamped along the inside skirt but judging from the finish and decals I sincerely doubt if this stands for Deutches Reichs Post. The early, smooth pea green finish shows occasional wear to the finish revealing the aluminum sheel. The chinstrap is the "quick-release" variety showing minor age cracking but it is intact and pliable. There are a couple of very minor indentations to the shell's crown. These do not detract from the overall appearance or desirability of this rare piece. The interior features the original liner with four (4) cork pads that separate the shell from the liner. 163SO10 - Unobtainable Allgemeine Schutzstaffel führer tuchmütze. It is on very rare occasion that one has the opportunity to have in his possession an artifact so rare that it may be the only one known. Coming from an old and very advanced collection is this officer tuchmütze. This sidecap features factory machine applied aluminum silver twistcord piping that extends along the side panels around to the front scallop. Beneath this piping is the standard silver totenkopf button. The most outstanding characteristic of this cap is the hand embroidered in silver aluminum wire an early M29 style officer eagle on the side triangular section of cloth where ordinarily would be seen the nco/enlisted machine embroidered version. The cap further features the highest quality black wool. This material is free of any mothing. The interior is lined with black polished cotton and displays a VA 1937 stamp along with two cloth tags. The " Vom Reichsführer SS befohlene Ausführung" and the "TUCHMuTZE fur SS RZM…" tag indicating the manufacturer. Affixed to the side are the button initials of the original owner " J E". This earlier version of the famed Hermann Meyer cap features a machine sewn Luftwaffe tropical breast eagle and tan cotton tropical embroidered kokarde. This insignia presentation was used prior to the use of the bevo eagle and winged kokarde as is commonly seen. The heavy tan cotton drill is in un-issued condition. There are three metal buttons on the sides and rear for the attachment of the sun drape. There are also two zinc ventilation grommets on each underside of the top panel. This well marked 1937 dated hat features white crown and capband waffenfarbe as worn exclusively by personnel of the Regiment Hermann Goring and later Hermann Goring Panzer Division. The upper wool Luftwaffe blue body is totally free of mothing and stains. The insignia consists of a 1st pattern Luftwaffe eagle with a down-turned tail and aluminum kokarde. 2206H14 - Rare Luftwaffe Hermann Goring Panzer Division M43. The "HG" division saw extensive action in both Italy and Russia. This cap exhibits authentic period wear as determined by the condition of the soiled artificial silk lining. The white Luftwaffe embroidered eagle displays period discoloration. The embroidered national kokarde is obscured by the two black painted pebbled buttons that join the two fold-down side panels. There is a single one inch stitched repair on the upper right side along the seam. The rayon interior displays discoloration due to wear. The RBN number, date and size 54 are stamped in the lining. These are barely legible due to the wear. 218H2 - Very rare Luftwaffe officer crusher by Paul Kaps. I’ve only seen two of these previously and one was in a book. This crusher features standard Luftwaffe officer crown and capband aluminum piping and bullion insignia. Also present is the officer aluminum chincord. This cap made by Paul Kaps is a true crusher and not a “50 Missions” visor made to look like a crusher. The lacquered leather visor and capband are fully pliable with the capband being made with lacquered buckram rather than the normal pasteboard that provides a stiffer support and shape.. 1510SO3 - Luftwaffe Hermann Goring Fallschirm-Panzer Division officer M43 field hat. This hat features factory applied silver aluminum piping along the circumference of the crown. There are no signs of external stitching that would indicate the piping was post-factory applied. The embroidered Luftwaffe eagle is factory machine sewn with zig-zag stitching and the national kokarde is padded. The two fold down side panels are secured at the front by two black plastic buttons. On the underside of each fold down panel is a strip of cloth used for the attachment of the winter neck protector. These cloth strips match the fabric of the wool lining. The interior is lined with gray wool felt indicating the hat was intended for winter use. The Hermann Goring Fallschirm-Panzer Division was involved in the heavy fighting in Italy prior to its withdrawal in February 1944 when it was dispatched to Russia where it fought on the eastern front for the remainder of the war. The gold cello chincords are tight and affixed by a single gold pebbled button on each side. The brown vulcanfiber visor is in excellent condition having no spidering or cracks. The interior is lined with gold colored artificial silk. The crown celluloid sweat diamond is complete being free of cracks beneath the complete leather sweatband is the RZM tag. 2209H5 - Early 1940 dated RLB subordinate cap. This light weight cotton cap features a factory applied machine woven RLB emblem. The interior is lined with light brown cotton and is dated 1940, size stamped 58. On one interior side of the hat is a machine sewn red sunburst black swastika emblem of the RLB. The maker August Schellenberg, Berlin was one the foremost suppliers of headgear during the Third Reich period providing visor hats for military as well are political and civil organizations. 2209H4 - Jagerschaft Hunting Association subordinate visor hat. This early example features the Jagerschaft , Hunting Association, emblem beneath the state civilian eagle. The hat's exterior gray wool body is in perfect condition being free of mothing and stains. The Green wool capband is also perfect being free of any serious mothing having only minor tracks.. The silver aluminum chincords display aing green and silver colors as characteristic of the subordinate ranks. The interior presents a gray artificial silk ling with a complete celluloid sweat diamond. The maker's name and city "WERREMEYER, BIPPEN" is embossed on the artificial leather sweatband. 224H5 - NS ORDENSBURG VOGELSANG Tuchmutze. Nationalpolitische Erziehungsanstalten ( NAPOLA) also known as NPEA or Adolf Hitler School Sidecap. The NAPOLA school system was first founded in 1933 shortly after Adolf Hitler became Chancellor with the mission of educating and indoctrinating carefully selected youths to become the future leaders of the Third Reich. Eventually twelve schools would be in operation. This sidecap features a triangular aluminum flatwire eagle machine sewn to the left side panel. The front displays a pebbled aluminum button with the party eagle affixed with a split pin. The exterior is in unissued condition being free of any mothing or stains. The interior displays a RZM Tuchmutze tag. A stamp appears on the lining “Eigentum Der N.S. Ordensburg” (Property of NS Ordensburg Vogelsang). The size is stamped 58. Rare. $750.  More Photos

224H4 - NSDAP Party Leader M43. This outstanding example features gold crown piping and a gilt party eagle. The party brown wool body is totally free of any wear, stains and thing of the material. The two side scallops are joined at the front with two brown plastic buttons. The interior shows a complete artificial leather sweatband and is free of wear. I have little doubt there is an RZM tag under the band but I’m reluctant to fold it back in fear of separating the brittle band. The size 55 is stamped on the crown. 2111H3 - Near mint and named Polizei Gendarmerie motorcycle leather helmet by Erel. This exemplary example features a brown leather dome exterior including the visor. An aluminum Polizei eagle is affixed to the upper front. A padded band encircles the helmet above the visor to give added protection. An extended leather protective ear flaps. The matching brown leather chinstraps with buckle instrap extends separately extends along the sides under the chinstraps. The interior’s leather liner is stamped size 59 along with a silver maker’s stamp indicating Robert Lubstein. The liner is fully intact along with its drawstring. The interior dome further displays a name tag with the name Wannemacher along with a separately glued Robert Lubstein cloth tag. A perfect example. $1850.  More Photos

218H4 - Zolldienst officer’s visor hat by Erel. This fine example features the stylized Zolldienst (Customs) eagle and kokarde. The feldgrau wool is in perfect condition having no mothing or stains. The green wool felt capband is free of mothing. The crown and capband waffenfarbe is dark green as was worn by the Customs service. The aluminum officer’s chincords are interspersed with flecks of gray that is also characteristic of the Customs service. The interior is lined with golden/yellow artificial silk. The rhomboid celluloid shield with the Erel maker’s logo is fully intact indicating “STANDARD” quality condition and size 54. 217H5 - 1^st pattern NSKK leather crash helmet. This black leather covered crash helmet features the 1st style NSKK eagle. The helmet was designed for wear while riding motorcycles and worn for parade purposes. The exterior leather is in excellent condition. The black leather neck guard does show minor age cracking where the guard connects to the upper helmet. The interior is lined with tan leather with a padded crown. The cap features handsewn factory applied machine woven Org. Todt insignia as evidenced by having brown base material. The Polizei green upper wool body is totally free of mothing and stains. Under the upper body fold above the brown wool felt capband are two screened ventilation grommets (missing one grommet). The insignia presents aluminum kokarde and wreathed Polizei eagle. The black chinstrap is in excellent condition having no breaks in the leather.
