091SO5 - "800 L/12" Knights Cross of the Iron Cross ( Ritterkreuz) by C.E. Juncker. Oakleaf Militaria is proud to offer this highly sought after Knights Cross. This cross features the correct stamps for the 800 silver content and C.E. Juncker's L/12 LDO number. The 800 and L/12 markings are properly positioned on the upper arm of the cross under the bale (ring through which the suspension loop passes). The magnetic cross weighs 35.2 grams with the silver suspension loop. The suspension ring is also marked "800". The loop has "cut ends". All the proper die flaws and cross-hatching is present as described in Dietrich Maerz's highly informative reference book, " The Knights Cross of the Iron Cross", published by B&D Publishing, LLC, copyright 2007. 095SO6 - The Oakleaves with Swords to the Knights Cross of the Iron Cross. Oakleaf Militaria,Inc. is proud to offer this very rare Third Reich military award made solely by the Gebruder Godet & Co. The Type 2 Swords are marked 900 21. This extremely high level decoration was presented to only 150 recipients (an additional 9 could not be confirmed through official documentation according to researcher and author Veit Scherzer). The "Swords" (Schwerten) were first presented in 1941 to Luftwaffe aces Galland, Molders, Oesau and Lutzow for their contributions during the Battle of Britain. The Kriegsmarine awarded the Swords only to Otto Kretchmer their top scoring U-Boat ace. By 1942 a total of 13 had been awarded to the Luftwaffe, 2 awarded for the Kriegsmarine and only 3 for the Army. These untouched and near mint Type 2 Swords feature the high quality craftsmanship typical of the Gebruder Godet & Co. All the correct die flaw characteristics associated with the Type 2 Swords are documented in the "Expertise" document provided by Dietrich Maerz author of The Knights Cross of the Iron Cross published by B&D Publishing, LLC, 2007. The swords feature a patina consistent with other examples found by soldiers of the 3rd Infantry Division of the U.S. Army in the safe at Schloss Klessheim near Berchtesgaden in 1945. 095SO3 - Knights Cross of Ernst Neufeld awarded at Stalingrad. This Knights Cross is attributed to Ernst Neufeld with a copy of pages from his Soldbuch. Oberfeldwebel Ernst Neufeld was awarded the Knights Cross for his actions as Zugfuhrer (unit leader) of the 2. Kompany das Kradschutzen - Bataillons 40. at Stalingrad on January 3, 1943. Ernst Neufeld ended the war as an Oberleutnant. The Knights Cross is a Juncker marked L/12 800. This Knights Cross features the correct stamps for the 800 silver content and C.E. Juncker's L/12 LDO number. The 800 and L/12 markings are properly positioned on the upper arm of the cross under the bale (ring through which the suspension loop passes). The magnetic cross weighs 34.1 grams with the silver suspension loop. The suspension ring is also marked "800". The loop has "cut ends". All the proper die flaws and cross-hatching is present as described in Dietrich Maerz's highly informative reference book, "The Knights Cross of the Iron Cross", published by B&D Publishing, LLC, copyright 2007. Herr Neufeld provided the buyer with his original Life-Saving Society membership card dated 6. October 1938 with his photo attached. Given by Herr Neufeld at the time of purchase is a wartime autographed photo of Neufeld wearing his Knights Cross. $14,000. More Photos

095SO4 - Knight's Cross by Klein & Quenzer. This highly sought-after piece is generally accepted to be the most coveted award in the German Wehrmacht. With just over 7,000 of these awarded, this is a rare item of Third Reich militaria. Ritterkreutzstrager's (holder's of the Knight's Cross) were considered "national heros" and were often given a hero's reception upon returning from the front to their homes. All too often many did not return to receive their former award document. This piece features the characteristics of the L/65 Knight's Cross. The donut shaped eye on the top arm that the suspension loop passes through and the suspension loop marked 800 and 65. The reverse center upper arm of the cross is stamped 800. The cross comes with a wearing ribbon that shows use. The ribbon has tie ends. The cross shows very minor wear on the reverse and is in excellent to near mint condition on the obverse. $8750. More Photos

Aluminum Army Paratroop Badge

095MAB27 - Aluminum Army Paratroop Badge (Fallschirmschutzen - Abzeichen des Heeres). This extremely rare badge (aluminum version) features the stylized diving Heer eagle. The Heer maintained a separate Fallschirminfantrie kompanie and later regiment until January 1, 1938 at which time it was incorporated into the Luftwaffe. Fallschirmjager who wore this badge after this date had previously been awarded the army version and allowed to wear the badge. This makes the early aluminum version very rare being that its production was discontinued after tombak became the primary material of construction prior to the outbreak of war. This badge shows use and has wear to the finish. There is a period repaired catch that protrudes through the wreath. This is a textbook example and will make a great centerpiece for anyone who collects badges, Luftwaffe, Heer or Fallschirmjager. $3000. More Photos

The German High Command thought so highly of the Heer's campaigns (often defensive) on the Russian Front that a majority of Campaign Shields were designed and awarded to recognize the costly effort. This was an early awarded shield being that it's magnetic. The shield features the German Wehrmacht eagle over the word KUBAN (in Russia) with the date 1943 with a small map of the campaign area. The shield is on field gray wool backing. The reverseis paper backed with two attaching prongs. $350. More Photos

The cross is a beautiful example of a "vaulted cross" having an excellent finish and detail. The reverse features a slightly fluted pin and standard catch and hinge assembly. The case features the 1939 Iron Cross nicely embossed.with the artificial leather and push-pin in excellent condition. The interior shows slight soiling and darkening to the material. There is minor separation in the fabric that joins the lid to the case. $500. More Photos

0811SO3 - Luftwaffe Honor Goblet ( Ehrenpokal ) named to Obergefreiter Gerhard Noatsch. This uncleaned goblet standing approximately 8.5 inches tall, has a rich patina to the silver. Instituted February 27, 1940 by Reichsmarshall Hermann Goring, this rare award was presented to Luftwaffe aircrew members who had already distinguished themselves in air combat who had already been awarded the Iron Cross 1st Class but not qualifying for the Knights cross. The goblet features two highly detailed eagles locked in aerial combat on the obverse and the 1939 Iron Cross on the reverse. Beneath the silver cup is a ring of decorative oak leaves and acorns. Underneath this ring is the recipient's name, rank and date of the award. This Ehrenpokal was presented to "OBERGEFREITER GERHARD NOATSCH AM 8.5.42." Along the base of the two-piece constructed goblet are the words - "FUR BESONDERE LEISTUNG IM LUFTKRIEG", "For Special Achievement in the Air War". The underside of the goblet is stamped FEINSILBER ALPAKA AUFLAGE JOH. WAGNER & SOHN. The underside rim has two minor indentations which is common to these goblets. These do not detract from the goblet's beauty or its standing presentation. Approximately 13,000 - 15,000 of these rare and beautiful goblets were presented. $5150. More Photos

0811MAB1 - Luftwaffe Soldbuch of Gefreiter Leopold Danek who served with I./Flak Regt. 53 in North Afrika with the award document for the Afrika – Italian Campaign Medal. This rare grouping consist of Danek’s Soldbuch that details his service in “Heeresgruppe Afrika”. Included in the Soldbuch are his postings and an inventory of the tropical uniform he was issued. Pages 8 - 13 have been removed. The award document of Leopold Danek’s Italienisch-Deutschen Erinnerungsmedaille is included. Accompanying this grouping is a letter sent by the German Red Cross advising Frau Semikin (presumably his next-of-kin) that Gefreiter Danek was being held as a POW at an internment camp located in Chaffee, Arkansas. 084MAB1 - Kreta Campaign cufftitle. Mint and RBN numbered. This is as perfect an original example you will find. This cufftitle features KRETA embroidered with gold rayon thread on white cotton. The upper and lower borders are Russian braid. On either side of KRETA is the acanthus decorative motif with seven leaves to each side. The reverse features an ink stamped RBN number. This rare campaign award was presented to mainly Luftwaffe personnel who participated in the Krete operation which cost the Fallschirmjager branch such heavy casualties that Hitler ordered no more large scale Fallschirmjager operations. The cuffttile measures 15 inchs long. $700. More Photos

This beautifully enameled piece features crossed swords over the white enameled star on the obverse.Between each arm of the star is a finely detailed gilt eagle over an enameled wreathed swastika. This example has a "fan" style suspension ring. The bale ( fixed ring) that extends from the top of the fan is stamped "900" indicating the silver content.
