The handle and pourspout are silver plated base metal. A glass stopper secures the top. 107st15 - Imperial Kriegsmarine stein named to Reservist Komelsheim of SMS Thuringen. This crockery 1.0L stein measures 15 ¼ inches tall. The full panel in raised relief depicts two sailors, one with a Mauser the other waving is cap, on either side of a sinking vessel and standing above artillery shells and an anchor. Overhead is the Imperial Kriegsflagge. The next to the flag stein is named to Reservist Komelsheim. On each side of the central theme are scenes depicting Navy life. One side displays men stoking the ship's furnaceson the other is pictured the SMS Thuringen making a full head of steam. The crew roster also appears below the two side scenes listing shipmates. The stein reveals Reservists Komelsheim's service dates as 1909-1912. The bottom portion of the steins body displays a central piece of miniscule artwork depicting a sailor with a bare-breasted native woman. On the rear of the lower body, beneath the handle is a sailor smoking his meerschaum pipe. The pewter lid features a seaman standing with his Imperial flag. Along the sides of the lid are various scenes further depicting life aboard ship. The thumblift affixed to the handle resembling a rope, displays the imperial eagle with crown.
